Tonight ("Tonight," "we," "us," or "our") builds an AI-powered meal planning app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Tonight or joining our waitlist, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your name, email address, and login credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive your basic Google profile and email.
• Household & meal preferences. Information you provide to personalize your plans — family size, dietary restrictions, cooking skill and time, preferred cuisines, and kitchen appliances.
• Activity in the app. Meal plans generated, recipes viewed, meals you rate (thumbs up/down), and grocery lists you create.
• Waitlist. If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address to notify you about launch.
• Subscription information. Purchases are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status; we do not receive or store your full payment card details.
• Technical data. Basic device and usage information needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use your information

• To create and personalize your meal plans, recipes, and grocery lists.
• To improve recommendations over time based on the meals you like and dislike.
• To operate voice features, process subscriptions, and provide customer support.
• To send you service-related messages and, if you opted in, launch and product updates.
• To secure the service and comply with legal obligations.

Service providers we share data with

We share only the data necessary for these providers to perform their function on our behalf:

• Clerk — user authentication and account management.
• Supabase — secure database hosting for your profile and app data.
• Anthropic — AI that generates your meal-plan suggestions. Prompts include your preferences but not your login credentials or payment data.
• Edamam & Spoonacular — real recipe data, photos, and nutrition information.
• Instacart — to build a pre-filled grocery cart when you choose to order. Only your selected ingredients are shared.
• ElevenLabs — powers the optional "Talk to Chef" voice feature.
• RevenueCat & Apple — subscription processing and management.

We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see below).

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.

Your rights and choices

• Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
• Update your household and meal preferences at any time in the app.
• Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any message.
• Request account deletion by emailing us at the address below.

Children

Tonight is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
